B.  IEP Development Assistance

To assist teachers and support staff in developing their IEPs in IEP Direct, training sessions will be available and announced for December and January. A guidance document by the State Education Department is also available through the Instructional Support Office.

C.  IEP Scheduling Options Available for Districts

We will again offer three options for the IEP development process during the specified periods listed above.  The desired option must be selected by the CSE no later than December 19th, 2008

Option I District CSE committees will be scheduled to come to the McKownville Methodist Church to hold meetings.  Days will be assigned by program and supervisory area.  A matrix developed by the supervisors to accommodate districts and teachers in specific time slots will be sent to the CSE.
Option II BOCES teachers will be available at their school sites for teleconference calls from CSE chairpersons at designated times.
Option III CSE committees may elect to go to the program site to meet with the teacher/staff.

It is our plan to collaborate with our districts as best we can to comply with the intent of the Regulations.  Additionally, communication with the CSE is extremely important as we continue to work together to develop and provide quality programs and services for students with disabilities.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or your Supervisor.

Thanks for your continuing assistance and support.
