The
TRE Center
The Technology Resources for
Education (TRE) Center is a co-sponsored statewide
project of the Capital Region BOCES and VESID. Our
mission: To provide information, training and other
resources to enhance learning opportunities for
individuals with or without disabilities through
technology.
Our BOCES? Assistive Technology
Services include
--Classroom Needs Assessment
--Professional Development Workshops
for classroom teams via VISTA or by appointment
--Classroom Consultations to support
Assistive Technology in the curriculum
--Technical Assistance with providing
instructional materials in an alternate format
--Assistive Device Loan and Support
--Technical Assistance via On-site
Consultation, Phone and Web Support

Assistive Technology Service Request
Service Request Form
Kim Mahar, an Assistive Technology
Coordinator, is available to all BOCES staff for
training and guidance in classroom related technology
issues. This includes:
Assistance with software programs
Assistance with hardware (Intellikeys,
switch interfaces AlphaSmarts, etc.)
Groupwise
Assistance with choosing appropriate
software for your classroom
Ways to incorporate technology into
your classroom and much more.
To request either in classroom
consultations or training for a larger group in the TRE
Lab, please fill out the Assistive Technology Service
Request Form.

Assistive Technology Impact Form
At Impact Form
This form will be filled out by the
teacher after a Tech Consult. This will allow us to
assess our service to the classrooms.

TRE Open Office Hours
Kim Mahar is available every Tuesday
from 2:30 - 5:00pm in the TRE Lab. This is the time to
look over software, hardware, devices, switches, toys,
etc.. No appointment is necessary.
